Upgrading my teeth
Most photos of me over the years I am not smiling authentically because of my judgement of my teeth!
I remember seeing the photo on the left and cringing at my crooked teeth, and remembering the hundreds of times I have not smiled in photos because of them -and that's a bit sad 🥰🥰
I'd had a sore jaw because of a misalignment and narrowing of my lower teeth. TMJ and a lot of pain, and jaw exercises over the years 🤣
Upgrading my teeth and jaw had been a huge goal of mine for years!
I went to the smile direct clinic in Wellington to see if I was a candidate & I was! Even booking the appointment was a big step for me in allowing the uplevelling 😁 I feel like I'd wanted to do it for years, but put it off because I was scared or the price, pain (sabotage story)
I had the aligners in for 8 months and life changed a lot during that time!
You have to uplevel your dental hygiene hugely! that is a practice I am grateful to have had to to continue on with after finishing with the aligners.
You brush your teeth & scrub your aligners every single time you eat!
So yes you become very particular about when you eat and snacking becomes hard 😅😅
Yes there are times its very painful - but it's basically reshaping your jaw and its a slow process.
Part of the journey is teeth whitening too, which I loved! 🙏🙏
🥰🥰This process has lead to me smiling more and that's ultimately the best thing ever!!🥰🥰
